Getting to Lenox Hill Hospital

Driving Directions

From The Bronx or Westchester

Take the Major Deegan Expressway (NYS Thruway, I-87) southbound to Triborough Bridge to Manhattan. Take FDR Drive southbound to exit 71st Street exit. Turn right onto E 71st St and turn left onto York Ave. Then turn left at the 1st cross street onto E 70th St.

From Brooklyn or Staten Island

Cross the Brooklyn Bridge or go through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Take FDR Drive northbound to 61st Street exit. Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto York Ave. Then turn right onto E 70th St.

From Queens or Long Island

Cross the Triborough Bridge. Take FDR Drive southbound to 71st Street. Turn right onto E 71st St and turn left onto York Ave. Then turn left at the 1st cross street onto E 70th St.

OR

Take the Queens Midtown Tunnel westbound to Take E 40th St to 1st Avenue/United Nations Plaza. Turn right onto E 40th St. Continue on 1st Avenue/United Nations Plaza. Take FDR Drive to York Ave. Use the left lane to take exit 12 toward E 61st St. Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto York Ave. Turn right onto E 70th St.

From New Jersey

Cross the George Washington Bridge to Harlem River Drive/FDR Drive. Take FDR Drive southbound to exit 71st Street exit. Turn right onto E 71st St and turn left onto York Ave. Then turn left at the 1st cross street onto E 70th St.

From Connecticut

Take the New England Thruway (I-95) southbound to Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287). Take left hand exit for NYS Thruway (I-87) southbound, and continue on Thruway to the Triborough Bridge to Manhattan. Take FDR Drive southbound to exit 71st Street exit. Turn right onto E 71st St and turn left onto York Ave. Then turn left at the 1st cross street onto E 70th St.

 

Using Public Transportation

 

Bus

The M66, M72 and M31 buses all stop within one block of the hospital.

 

Subway

Q train icon
Q train: Take the train to 72nd Street. Using your Metrocard, a free transfer is available to the M72 eastbound crosstown bus to York Avenue (see below for bus service directions). The bus stop is directly above the station on the Southeast corner of East 72nd Street at Second Avenue.

An elevator to the mezzanine is located at the center of the train platform. From the mezzaine, travel North to exit at East 72nd Street. Elevators to the street level are located on the East side of the station.

Take the train to 68th Street. Using your Metro card, a free transfer is available to the M66 eastbound crosstown bus to York Avenue (see below for bus service directions). The bus stop is directly above the station on the Southeast corner of East 68th Street at Lexington Avenue. Note: There are no elevators at the 68th Street station.

 

Flying to New York

 

Lenox Hill Hospital is easily accessible from LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark Airports. Taxi service and airport shuttle buses are available at most airline terminals.
